Making my house environmentally Green?  When considering your home or rental property with environmental options, you will have to weigh-in two things.  You’re monthly bills and your consumption as in “carbon footprint”.  The bigger picture has to be considered.  For example, lowering your cost for consumption like low flow toilets can help save you money and/or your tenant money that can be used for rent.  

Here are other options to consider.

  • Energy Star appliances for your house or rental property? Since 1992, there have been over two billion products sold, which in 2006 had a $14 billion in savings.  You can be saving hundreds of dollars in energy cost plus leaving a lesser carbon footprint.
  • Energy efficient light bulbs for your house or rental property? Incandescent bulbs will be obsoleted very soon.  Which type of light bulb is best?  CFL compact fluorescent lights are smaller versions of fluorescents bulbs.  LED light emitting diodes are pricier; however it has a longer life spam.  Did you know an average house hold uses over 50 light bulbs?  LED can save up to $40 in its lifetime can be a dramatic change you’re bottom-line.
  • Low flow shower heads (toilets) saves few thousands of gallons of water yearly.
